Annual and perennial cut flowers
We grow an assortment of drought tolerant, pollinator loving southern hemisphere flowers and foliage as well as a diverse mix of unique annual blooms.
The importance of local flowers
The majority of flowers in the industry, used by florists and sold at market, are imported from South and Central America . The cultivation of flowers in regions with lax environmental regulations can lead to habitat destruction, deforestation, and the depletion of natural resources such as water and fertile soil not to mention the extensive carbon footprint associated with their transportation. Many imported flowers are grown using intensive agricultural methods that rely heavily on chemical pesticides and fertilizers, which can contaminate soil and waterways, harm biodiversity, and endanger the health of farm workers and nearby communities.
In contrast, choosing locally grown flowers not only supports the vitality of communities and reduces carbon emissions associated with transportation but also promotes sustainable farming practices, protects biodiversity, and ensures healthier ecosystems. We grow an assortment of drought tolerant, pollinator loving Australian and South African flowers and foliage as well as a diverse mix of unique annual blooms and always without chemicals!
